LET YOUR CHILD TO UNLOCK THE
MAGIC OF MUSIC WITH
VALLEY YOUTH SYMPHONIES

Youth symphonies provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform orchestral music in a group setting, gaining valuable experience and

training under the guidance of professional conductors and coaches. They often function similarly to professional orchestras, rehearsing regularly and performing concerts for the public. They may perform a wide range of repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions. Participation in a youth symphony can be an enriching experience for young musicians, offering them the chance to develop their musical skills, build friendships with fellow musicians, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for orchestral music.

The Youth Symphony of the Southwest was founded in 2006 for the express purpose of supporting and fostering the highest quality music education and to inspire and nurture the love of symphonic repertoire by offering hands-on experience to qualified young musicians from 15* through age 20.

Under the direction of Cal Stewart Kellogg, Conductor of Symphony of the Southwest and West Valley Symphony, musicians are offered an opportunity to join their peers for a year of intensive practical orchestra training and music performances.

East Valley Youth Symphony, Inc. was founded in 2006 by a group of conductors and music lovers who saw the need for advanced students to use their musical skills in a setting that would both challenge and enhance their abilities.  The organization consists of two strings-only orchestras, one symphony orchestra, and a preparatory winds group, which strives to give less experienced winds players a path to the symphony orchestra.

PYSO exists to Expand Horizons Through Music and develop the next generation of Artists, Patrons and Leaders.

In 1947, a forward-thinking group formed the Phoenix Symphony Guild with the purpose to create and fund The Phoenix Symphony. Five years later, this same group began the Youth Orchestra in order to train young musicians for The Phoenix Symphony.
